Hawke’s Bay Events – Feb – April 2017
It’s an exciting time of year in Hawke’s Bay with a number of spectacular events happening throughout the summer. Here are a few major annual events leading into April 2017. This is a super busy time of year and our on-site pool is generally pretty busy with kids and families enjoying cooling down after a busy day out so keep us in mind when booking that summer holiday!
This is one of Hawke’s Bays biggest events of the year with people travelling from all over the world to take part. Go back in time to the 1930’s and celebrate in style with over 200 events including car shows, aerobatic flying displays, concerts and plenty of more fun for the entire family.
The events take place from Wednesday 15th – Sunday 19 Feb 2017 at various locations. A Festival Programme can be found here. The whole region is usually booked out months in advance but we do sometimes have a late cancellation. Call us to check, and if we cannot help… book in for next year!
This annual event is huge for all horse enthusiasts or anyone looking for a great day out in sunny Hawke’s Bay. New Zealand’s premier equestrian competition features a wide range of events for the whole family to enjoy including Competitions, exhibitions and VIP events. We are well positioned in Taradale for those keen to check this out.
The exhibition has over 150 stalls so you can spend the day shopping in a range of food, lifestyle, fashion and much more. For show information, a schedule or ticket prices click here.
7-12 March 2017 – Hawke’s Bay A&P Showgrounds.
This is a great cultural event for the entire family. Held every 2 years, performers have put in a lot of time and effort preparing for these Kapa Haka performances. The Festival is family friendly and smoke and alcohol free. All people are welcome to come and enjoy this exhilarating cultural experience.
The Festival runs from Wednesday 22 Feb through to Sunday 26 Feb and is held at the Sports Park Hawkes Bay, Percival Rd Hastings.

Here is an event to get you out seeing Hawke’s Bay’s stunning scenery. (As if you needed a reason) Warning! This is not for the faint hearted. The 2km swim in the open water will surely wake you up for the 95 km bike ride towards Cape Kidnappers and through the scenic Tuki Tuki Valley. This leads you back to Napier where you will head out on a 21 km run through the Rotary pathways with a view of many of Napier’s attractions.
You will receive a well deserved beer at the finish line along with a number of other goodies. The Half marathon takes place on Sunday 2nd April. View their website for more details.
Join us at Colonial Lodge Motel in Napier for these amazing Hawke’s Bay Events.
Don’t forget to give us a call to book your accommodation and we can assist with any events you wish to attend ( not just the ones listed above) or any general queries regarding local activities. We look forward to hearing from you!
