Splash Planet 

Open from the 14th of November 2016 to 6th February 2017, Splash Planet is New Zealand’s only Water Theme Park and provides hours of fun for the whole family. With 6 different water slides, bumper boats, kayaks and a never ending river ride it’s the perfect way to cool down on hot summer days. And if you need a break from the water to let lunch settle or your fingers dry out you can enjoy the Fantasyland Express, Fun Karts, Jungle Jeeps, Mini Golf, Beach Volleyball, and Flying Box.

Waimarama Beach

Waimarama Beach is one of Hawke’s Bay best beaches. It’s long stretches of sandy beach are ideal for lots of summer actives. With life guards on duty from December to March you can swim safety within the flags and enjoy a the summer sun. Or take a pop tent or umbrella, a delicious picnic and make a day of it, building sand castles, digging trenches and playing beach volleyball.


If your looking for a fun afternoon for the adults, there are plenty of wineries in Hawke’s Bay that offer fantastic summer menus, and cellar door wine tastings. If you care to make a day of it, you can hire bike to cycle from winery to winery, or you can book a cycle tour.

Rush Munro’s

Founded in 1926 and rebuilt after the Napier earthquake, the garden provide a lovely spot to enjoy your ice cream.
